Tell a story
Most of the time when you are the designated photographer for an event, or just taking photos for yourself, the end result can be two totally different products. One can be just a gallery of photographs, or as we say, snapshots. Or, with a little planning, you can emerge with something much greater and more valuable.
Capturing a story.
One of the best things you can possible do as a photographer is to capture a story - bringing back the "look, feel and smell" of the event. Between getting the required shots, there is plenty of time to take photos that capture the feel and story of the event. Arrive a bit early and depart a bit later. You will have the opportunity to capture memories of things most people will forget until you remind them. And in the end bringing back pleasant smiles of memories lost is a wonderful thing to do.
Have fun and have a great week!
Here's a few photos from my nephew Eric and his wife Sydney's rehearsal dinner.
